Website Design differs a lot from the Print Design. Photoshop is usually used for print design but when it is used for web design one needs to be very careful. The three main elements to be handled carefully are as follows.
This terminology is adopted from the field of sea traveling. Website Navigation refers to ease with which a visitor finds what he/she wants on visiting the website. Once the visitor clicks on the website he/she usually comes across the home page but sometimes it could be other pages too. The links placed on the web pages should be such that they inter-link all the pages of the website. The other factor that affects navigation is the layout of the web design. If the layout of the web design is confusing and messy, the visitor will not be able to find what he or she is searching for. Photoshop should be used to make the layout of the website as simple as possible so that even a first time visitor finds it easy to access the information that he/she wants.
Resolution and Screen Width:
The monitors of the earlier computers supported lower resolutions and the width of the screen was usually 14-15inches. Along with the software technology the hardware technology has also evolved a lot. This improvement has increases the resolutions of the monitors to such an extent that most of the monitors now have resolution of 768 pixels or 10204 pixels. The monitors that are available today usually have a broader screen width. When Photoshop is being used for website, the designer should test the website on monitors with different resolutions as well as different screen width. This is the best way to make sure about how the website is going to be seen by the visitors.
Paper as against web site:
As mentioned earlier there is a big difference between the two.
