You Would Like to Build an Opt-In Mailing List?

Then start right away - there is no time like the present!

Maybe you have recently set up your site and you may be thinking it is too soon to make a commitment like this. It may appear a little daunting to you, having to create all those emails and running out of ideas, but now is the time to begin.

To start with, your list will grow little by little over the first month or so (depending purely on your amount of traffic) and will grow gradually.

This gives you time to gather material and jot down email messages easily.

Setting one up is easy, in that you need to have an opt-in form on your website or blog, preferably on each page if you use a website.

By using an autoresponder you set up a sequence of email messages showing hints and tips, all related to the information on your

site, that way keeping in contact with your list members.

These autoresponders work in two ways:

* the paid version includes no advertisements

* the free version.

The second type splits into two extra ways:

* One type carries ads on your emails, that way bombarding your list members.

* The second bombards you with ads.

They all have to make a living, so you take your choice, and they all tend to offer a double opt-in version to eliminate spam messages being sent.

To start a list off, you need only four or five emails at weekly intervals, that way your original month is covered and this gives you time to come up with more relevant information that your list is looking for.

Your prime concern is to have enough funds coming in initially to cover the cost of the autoresponder costs, assuming you are going down the paid route.

This means you need around three months fees on hand to pay these costs, as this is a safe margin, provided you have the traffic visiting your site.

But back to your site, what is need here to get your visitors to sign up is an incentive, a free download of something that is important to your prospective list.

If you are offering a viral product so your list can use the product to offer out to their lists, then you will achieve sales easily with the compounding effect your downliners provide.

One thing that is most important as you build your list...

Do not try to sell anyone anything in the first few weeks, otherwise you will lose that potential customer.

They are looking for information, not sales pitches, and once they come to trust you, they may just buy your offers.

There is absolutely nothing to stop anyone from developing a list and making sales online, other than that ever building problem, self- doubt.

The sooner you make your decision to start to build a bond with your list, the quicker it will grow.
